This page will hopefully answer the most frequently asked questions about Donegal SPCA.
What does Donegal SPCA stand for?
Donegal SPCA is the Donegal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
What does the organisation do?
The name says it all. We are all about the prevention of cruelty. Our function is to combat cruelty to animals, on many levels and in several different ways. We help with all animals where we can. We promote responsible animal ownership.
Is Donegal SPCA the same as DSPCA and ISPCA?
Donegal SPCA is not the DSPCA. The DSPCA is the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Donegal SPCA is not the ISPCA. The ISPCA is the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We are affiliated with the ISPCA but we all function as separate and individual charities in our own right also.
What's the difference?
We all have our own separate charity numbers, constitutions, policies and agendas. We have nothing to do with the daily running of the other charities and they have nothing to do with the daily running of Donegal SPCA. We hope that this clears up some confusion for people.
Where can I neuter my pet? How much does it cost?
To have your pet neutered please ring your local vet and make an appointment. The price varies from vet to vet.
